Garett Dunn

Hi, I’m Garett. I’m 20 years old and I attend Oklahoma State University. I was
born and raised in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. I have been going to church my
entire life, I even went to a daycare run by a church. I was in Boy Scouts for
about 12 years, earned the Eagle Scout rank, then decided that it was time to
move on from scouting. I’ve been involved in youth groups since I started high
school, and I still help out my old youth group whenever I can. I’m pretty good
at Guitar Hero, which is the only instrument I can play (the fake guitar). I
enjoy music a lot, so much so that sometimes I’ll give up music as a sort of
fast. Lately I’ve been enjoying Wilco, Waterdeep, and Death Cab for Cutie. Here
at OSU I’m majoring in Management Information Systems, which I don’t know what
I’m going to do with, other than get a job. I like to try out new food, and to
be honest, I’ve hit a roadblock with it. I haven’t tried any really new food in
a while. It always brings me joy when I find someone else who enjoys eating
sushi, or who will at least try it without complaining about how you shouldn’t
eat raw food. I try to be a nice person, but I do enjoy sarcasm a lot, although
if I use it around someone it just means that I’m comfortable with them and view
them as a friend. So don’t take it personally. And I don’t know if I can stand
writing about myself anymore. I think I’ve gotten a little more self-absorbed
after applying for this mission trip.
